Registrations to Order Heart Kit Close 4 April 2014

Almost 10,000 Australians die of heart attack annually.  This year’s Heart Week – Sunday 4 May to Saturday 10 May 2014 - provides an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the problem of heart disease and to help improve the heart health of all Australians.  The key message this year will be to encourage pharmacists to educate their patients about the warning signs of heart attack.

Heart Foundation’s National CEO, Mary Barry said, “This year we are asking health professionals to help us save lives by educating patients about warning signs of heart attack and how to reduce their risk of having one.” Adding that more than one million Australians aged 30 to 65 is at high risk of having a heart attack or stroke, but they may not even know they are at risk.

“We’re asking health professionals to order a Heart Week kit that includes posters and balloons for display as well as fact sheets and wallet cards that can be distributed to patients.”
