Hydralyte Dehydration & Travel - New Module

The revised and updated Hydralyte travel module is an interactive training module for pharmacy assistants that provides valuable information for every day practice in pharmacy.

With 1 in 4 Australians being at risk of travellers’ diarrhoea, it is integral that pharmacy assistants are confident in the recommendation of an oral rehydration solution for travellers. Travellers to high risk destinations (such as Bali and Thailand) have a 50% chance of experiencing travellers’ diarrhoea, and with an average length of 3 to 7 days, it can ruin any holiday. In addition, travellers may become dehydrated after long haul flights (dry cabin conditions), increased alcohol consumption and increased physical activity that often occurs whilst on holiday.

Topics covered in the module include; the risks of dehydration associated with travel, travellers’ diarrhoea, travel first aid kits, prevention of travellers’ diarrhoea, and the treatment of dehydration using Hydralyte – an oral rehydration solution.

Upon completion of this engaging module, pharmacy assistants will feel more confident when speaking with customers about travel related dehydration and the benefits of an oral rehydration solution (Hydralyte).
