Move More, Sit Less! Get involved in Heart Week, 3-9 May

Help the National Heart Foundation promote Heart Week by encouraging customers to get active.

The ‘Move More, Sit Less!’ campaign aims to raise awareness around the risks involved with sustained physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour.

The Pharmacy Guild collaborates with Heart Foundation on Walking Groups. During Heart Week why not consider becoming involved in the Heart Foundation Walking program?

Why Walking Groups?

Heart Foundation Walking Groups are a fun and easy way to help people increase physical activity, whilst making new friends and engaging with their local community. Walking Groups also build support networks, helping participants stay motivated to keep walking regularly.

So why should pharmacies get involved?

Walking groups are a great way for pharmacies to connect with their community. As a Walk Organiser your pharmacy becomes a meeting point, & your staff can attend walks and get to know your customers.

You could start a group to target a health issue important to your community (e.g. diabetes or sleep apnoea) or one aimed at specific population groups (e.g. a stroller group to engage with parents). How can I get involved? ecoming a walk organiser is free and easy. Heart Foundation Walking offers a range of support and resources to walk organisers, including training, newsletters, advertising and a Walker Recognition Scheme.
