Pharmacists are being urged to raise awareness of Stroke that affect thousands of Australians as part of a new health campaigns this September.

National Stroke Week kicked off this Monday by urging Australians to ‘be aware, live healthy and get their blood pressured checked’.

This year more than three thousand Stroke Week activities are expected to be held across the country, from awareness morning teas to personal and team challenges and health checks.

National Stroke Foundation Chief Executive Officer Dr Erin Lalor said the week was an opportunity for all Australians to take the challenge and learn how they can reduce their risk of stroke.

“National Stroke Week is all about bringing people together to have fun and raise awareness about preventing stroke,” Dr Lalor said.
