OTC treatments which may help mild mental health disorders

Mental illness describes a number of diagnosable disorders that can significantly interfere with a person's cognitive, emotional or social abilities. In 2007, almost half (45% or 7.3 million) of Australians aged 16-85 years reported that they would have met at least one of the selected mental disorders - Anxiety, Mood (affective) or Substance Use disorders at some point in their life.

During Mental Health Week (6 to 12 October 2013) the focus is on anyone who may present with signs of depression, anxiety or substance use disorders. They may be some of your customers? Whilst the severe levels of mental illness need to be referred to GPs or Other Health Professionals, there are some OTC treatments which may assist in the relief of mild depression and anxiety.
