More than half are Female Pharmacists

Out of 20,073 generally registered pharmacists in Australia more than half are female - constituting 16,531 or 61% with males making up 10,542 or 39% of all generally registered Australian Pharmacists.

With the majority of 8,335 pharmacist practising in NSW; 6,709 in VIC; 5,407 in QLD; 2,970 in WA, 1,972 in SA; 685 in TAS; 465 in ACT and NT bringing up the rear with 202 pharmacists.

The Pharmacy Board of Australia recently announced these figures for the period 1 July to 30 September 2016.  More details can be found on pharmacyboard.gov.au.
