Avoid American Ginseng and Warfarin

Evidence suggests that American ginseng reduces plasma concentrations of warfarin and therefore reduces its effectiveness. This is likely to be a result of an effect of American ginseng on hepatic drug metabolising enzymes. If co administered with warfarin, customers taking American ginseng must have regular INR measurements and be carefully monitored for lack of drug effect.
