Pharmacy of the Year Entries Closing Soon

Nominations for the Guild Pharmacy of the Year award close on Friday 3 August so there is no time to waste in getting your entry in.

The Pharmacy of the Year Award 2019 is a Pharmacy Guild of Australia initiative, sponsored by Care Pharmaceuticals and the Quality Care Pharmacy Program, which acknowledges the most innovative and adaptable pharmacy businesses that strive to provide more healthcare services to their patients in more ways.

The awards recognise those community pharmacy businesses that achieve excellence in providing consumers the best care, medication, advice and professional services.

Guild members can enter in the three categories:

• Excellence in Business Management
• Excellence in Community Engagement
• Excellence in Professional Innovation

One of the three category winners will be named the overall Guild Pharmacy of the Year at APP2019 being held on the Gold Coast from 7-10 March 2019.

The 2019 competition also marks the 20th anniversary of showcasing exemplary Guild pharmacies.

The competition is open to all Guild member community pharmacy businesses. Previous Pharmacy of the Year Awards entrants, including winners, may also submit entries again this year.

So what makes a Guild Pharmacy of the Year? The reality is that Pharmacy of the Year award recipients may not have recognised themselves as industry leaders before entering the competition.

Guild Pharmacy of the Year winners often:

• Have set and achieved their business goals
• Demonstrate commitment to their customers’ needs
• Have identified and met gaps in addressing local health needs in their area
• Implement innovative ideas, and evaluate success
• Have successfully collaborated and partnered to strengthen their health professionals network
• Demonstrate strong leadership that unifies the pharmacy team
• Continually improve and grow their business

Entries for the competition close next Friday, 3 August 2018.
