Caution required with American Ginseng and Diabetic Medication

Caution is required with diabetic customers who may want to supplement with American ginseng.

American ginseng may cause a small reduction in blood glucose concentrations and may potentially increase the risk of hypoglycaemic events in diabetic patients taking oral hypoglycaemic medications or insulin. In the event of co-administration of American ginseng and oral hypoglycaemic medications or insulin, blood glucose concentrations should be carefully monitored and drug dosage may need to be adjusted.
